Singing Insects

This will be an overview of the singing insects (crickets, katydids and cicadas) of the Chicago Region, including photos, sound recordings, and resources. Includes highlights of a 2007 study of periodical cicadas in DuPage County that found agricultural history, railroad history and suburban history as well as peculiarities of 17-year cicada behavior all to be essential to understanding their distribution.
