University of Illinois at Chicago
Session: F1
Citizen Science: Tracking Nature in Chicago Wilderness
Introduction: MonitoringKaren Glennemeier and Susanne Masi
Audubon-Chicago Region; Chicago Botanic Gardens
The Habitat Project is a network of more than 1,000 citizen conservationists who keep tabs on the plants and animals in our region’s wild areas. Come hear what we’re learning about the health of the plants and animals that we’re monitoring. Listen to some inspiring stories of people making a difference and changing their corner of the world. We’ll talk about the health of our woods and grasslands, our birds, butterflies, frogs, dragonflies, and rare plants, including the Plants of Concern program.
