Hear the heroic and fun stories of volunteers and staff who have done creative and dedicated work to protect and restore our prairies, woodlands, wetlands and wildlife.

We celebrate past recipients of these “Academy Awards of Nature” and announce the 2010 Awards.

Featured speaker is U.S. Congressman Mike Quigley.

Some of this year's awards go to:
  • Mike Quigley — conservation crusader and the only Forest Preserve board member who regularly came to workdays throughout the region
  • Many heroic stewards and citizen scientists
  • Debra Shore and Don Parker (who brought us glorious Chicago Wilderness Magazines for 11½- years)
  • The great folks behind Wild Things

The program starts with a social hour, followed by dinner, Mike's speech and presentations of awards (with their many inspiring stories of conservation.)

February 27, 2010. 5:00pm. Brookfield Zoo Discovery Center. Cost of the dinner is $24 and includes a choice of Chicken or Vegetarian main course, fancy soup, dessert, and coffee or tea. Cash bar.

RSVP to Janis Wesley at jwesley@audubon.org or 847-328- 1250. Please mail $24 per dinner to reach us by Feb. 17th so that we can order the dinners. Mail checks payable to Audubon, 1718 Sherman Av. #210, Evanston, IL 60201. (Please also mention your main dish selection.)
